Product Description

Update 3/17/2016: The new MeiYu parts have finally been released. All Cong's Design MeiYu 4x4s purchased will now have the new centers pre-installed. If you purchased a Cong's Design MeiYu from us previously and would like the replacement centers, please feel free to mention them in the order comments section of any order and we will be sure to include them.

The Cong's Design MeiYu 4x4 is the first 4x4 in the Cong's Design lineup. It features centers that are significantly more rounded than other commercially available 4x4s, which allows for excellent corner cutting right out of the box. The cube makes use of a unique positioning system that is different from most other 4x4s on the market.

It is also available in a variety of plastic colors that were previously not available on 4x4s.

Our Promise to You

All of our products are guaranteed to be free of defects, or we will replace and reship at no cost to you. Please contact us within 4 weeks (28 days) past the delivery date to report any issues with items you have purchased.

Please note that some new cubes when being used for the first few times may experience what is termed a "pop". This is when one or more parts of a puzzle pop out without any damage actually being done to any of the pieces. This also occurs from time to time during normal usage. Pops are typically not considered a defect if the parts which come off can be reassembled by hand.

The corners on 2x2 puzzles should not be twisted as doing so may snap the piece. Damage caused by corner twisting is not considered to be a defect.

What!

It's the best 4x4 I used.My friend owns a aosu and my cube is waayyyy better. The only drawback is that the cube has little reverse corner cutting and if I overshoot it shoots back.Other the

MAIN!!!!!
Cong's Design MeiYu

This cube is my main for these reasons:
The Size: 62 mm
The size is better than my previous main because my old one was 60mm but I have really big hands
3x3 stage: amazing
Inner layers: a little bit slower than the 3x3 stage but that's how I like it though and they stay together
Set Up: maru lube that's it

Do Not get it!!!!

Every single Meiyu I have felt is trash. Out of the box, I barely could turn the inner layers and the outer layers were soooo sluggish. I dumped in some maru to see if it had any potential but NOPE no way. with maru it is a tiny bit better and is still a horrible cube. I broke it in and it was a little less rough when turning then i lubed it like Cyotheking..... the outer layers took five minutes to break in if I let the lube harden and the inner layers were slower. even after breaking in and relubing, it was still horrible and I sold it to someone at Nats cuz they wanted a trash 4x4. Do not get it it is not like the mei ying!!!!

Best 4x4 yet

I don't ususally do much 4x4. I'm just too lazy to remember parities and stuff. But when I saw that this came in gray, I had to but it. See, I have a kind of new "fetish" for gray cubes. I lubed this with traxxas 50k on the core, and I'm experimenting with other stuff on the pieces. This cube is amazing! I never get lockups, and that's been a constant issue for me with bigger cubes. If you can't decide whether or not you want to get this or the aosu or something, get this.

Fail

I was so excited for this cube when it came out. when it finally arrived it sucked. One side moved twice as was as the other and I've only had it for a week and it exploded 3 times.

Great Cube

Let me start by saying i'm not a speed cuber, but i am getting quicker. This cube is my favorite cube so far, the 1st thing i noticed was how well made it is, feels a little heavy which I like, it's a little sandy but it's starting to break in nicely. Super nice quality cube and would recommend to anyone !!

Hmm

I am not sure if it's just my Meiyu, but one side always seems to turn much slower than the others. It's because of this side that whenever I solve the cube it locks up a fair amount. I expected much more since it's the second batch. I don't mind that the inner layers turn slower I just wanted to warn that it might happen to you. One side has to be forced to turn. That's the about the only con.

Really good

Let's start by saying that if you got the first batch one you should really give this another chance. This cube is very good out of the box. I got 2 and they both came a little tight, but if you loosen it it will explode every solve, if I you don't loosen it it will pop once every 600 solves. The feeling is a little bumpy on the outer layers when turning slow, not noticable when solving. The inner layers are smoother, and crispier than the outer but a little slower. The normal corner cutting line to line and reverse is 3/4(best reverse on a 4x4).
Setting up this puzzle is a pain. The mechanisim is very different from any other 4x4. Putting the internal peices is just too difficult, when you put one in the other one falls out. This 4x4 is one of the best, the turning is so nice, almost no lockups, and in my opinion this is better than my aosu. I recommend this puzzle to basically anyone saying that is almost $10 cheaper than the aosu.

Decent Cube

The Cong's Design Meiyu is a decent cube. The outer layers are pretty good and turn smoothly with a controllable speed. They also corner cut pretty well too. The inner layers are where this cube drops off. They are smooth, but very sluggish. I could not find a way to make them faster. The inner corner cutting isn't that great either, only cutting half a piece. Over all this is a decent cube with nice outer layers and meh inner layers. I would recommend this to people who like to try new cubes and collect them, but in terms of performance, the YJ Guansu is superior in every way.
