Product Description

This is the Assembled version of this product. To see the Do-It-Yourself (DIY) version of this product, please click here.

The DaYan LunHui is the fourth cube of the DaYan series and the first to feature anti-pop torpedoes. Here's what we think:

  • Stable and solid
  • Incredibly flexible with corner cutting
  • Turns feel smooth and controlled
  • Features built-in torpedoes that minimize popping
In summary, the LunHui has a very “substantial” feel that makes turning extremely enjoyable. Also, the combination between its smoothness and its solidity allows you to turn your heart out without pops or lockups. Have fun being indestructible.

Our Promise to You

All of our products are guaranteed to be free of defects, or we will replace and reship at no cost to you. Please contact us within 4 weeks (28 days) past the delivery date to report any issues with items you have purchased.

Please note that some new cubes when being used for the first few times may experience what is termed a "pop". This is when one or more parts of a puzzle pop out without any damage actually being done to any of the pieces. This also occurs from time to time during normal usage. Pops are typically not considered a defect if the parts which come off can be reassembled by hand.

The corners on 2x2 puzzles should not be twisted as doing so may snap the piece. Damage caused by corner twisting is not considered to be a defect.

Old Twisty Puzzle Review #1 (DaYan LunHui)

As an old twisty puzzle collector, I decided that the first old twisty puzzle that I wanted to get was this (keep in mind that I bought this puzzle somewhere else), and I'm glad that I did. Out of the box, this puzzle has a nice fast yet stable and crisp feel. I recommend that you tighten this puzzle up a bit as mine was very loose, realizing the hard way after checking its tensions (three pieces just popped out in union lmao). After testing this puzzle out, I have a list of pros and cons.

Pros:
-Very Sturdy
-Crisp & Fast
-Feels Nice

Cons:
-The vertex's of this puzzle are rather sharp, causing them to scratch me a bit on my pinkie when doing D & D' flicks
-Too tight OOTB, but fixable.

Overall, I recommend this puzzle to anyone wanting to collect these type of puzzles. Even with today's standards, the performance is rather adequate.

WARNING! VERY IN DEPTH

Alright, where to begin? The turning out of the box is, fast and crunchy, but yet, at the same time, smooth and controllable. After modding it, (sanded down some parts), lubing with weight 2 on the pieces and maru, and having it set to fairly loose tensions, it was amazing. The turning set to the right speed, the feel was smooth, clicky, and yet also crunchy. Turning: 9/10
Corner-cutting out of the box was 45 degrees forward, 2/3 of a cubie reverse. Pretty standard for most cubes, although now most cut more. However, after tensioning the cube to a slightly looser tension, the cube corner-cuts about 40 degrees forward, and about 6/7 of a cubie reverse. Corner-cutting:7/10
This cube is extremely stable, and has almost no flex, much unlike most cubes today, with some notable ones being the Gans 356, Meiying, and Hualong. This gives the cube a blocky feel, but it doesn't affect much in terms of solving, and prevents certain lock-ups form happening as pieces are harder to misalign. Stability: 9/10 (very stable)
Average of the scores: 84% (B-)

Dayan Lunhui

The Dayan Lunhui is a old 3x3 but surprisingly...it's a great cube. Out of the box the cube came perfectly lubed and tensioned. The speed the of the cube is controllable. When i mean controllable i don't mean fast or slow, i mean it's between fast and slow. Perfect speed for myself. Corner cutting is 45 degrees like any other cube. Corner twists don't happen much. Over the 300 solves iv'e done i got no corner twists at all! Turning is my favorite part of this cube. The turning is VERY smooth. It's so smooth that it feels like a knife that was heated up until it was red hot, and cutting through butter...meaning it's very smooth. Popping is no issue at all. I had no pops so far! Overall, this is another cube that Dayan has successfully made! 5/5 stars for this cube. Speed, turning, corner twisting, and corner cutting is just all great!

Review

This cube was very dry out of the box. After a good lube it's amazingly smooth. Very stable, and very easy to control. It's a great practice cube, but not one that I'll likely make my best time on.

This cube is rather sluggish. maru lube did little to speed it up. The corner i similar to the cx3 or aolong.

I got a stickerless Lunhui and I daresay, it is the most durable cube I can think of. As far as it's performance, it was great out of the box, it feels a tiny bit stiff, but that's because it has torpedoes and additional torpedo like structures, the thing is made to be pop resistant. And I crashed on my bike, and landed square on it, and it's still intact, except for a missing endcap, and a scraped side. It's my favorite cube.

Definitely worth the buy. As the description says, it is very controllable. This cube has set some of my best times because of it's control. Feels sturdy and definitely does not pop. Not as smooth feeling as a Guhong V2 since it's a bit more crispy but still turns very smoothly.
