Product Description

Calvin'x 3x3x5 cuboid is a fully functional cuboid from Calvin's Puzzle. It has equal-size cubies on all sides, and it comes in a clear plastic box.

Note: Please be careful when turning this puzzle. While the puzzle can perform well with normal use, the corner stalks are a bit thin and can snap if forced too hard.

Our Promise to You

All of our products are guaranteed to be free of defects, or we will replace and reship at no cost to you. Please contact us within 4 weeks (28 days) past the delivery date to report any issues with items you have purchased.

Please note that some new cubes when being used for the first few times may experience what is termed a "pop". This is when one or more parts of a puzzle pop out without any damage actually being done to any of the pieces. This also occurs from time to time during normal usage. Pops are typically not considered a defect if the parts which come off can be reassembled by hand.

The corners on 2x2 puzzles should not be twisted as doing so may snap the piece. Damage caused by corner twisting is not considered to be a defect.

Ok while it lasted

So I got this for 40 freaking dollars at Barnes and Nobles. But I was so excited for this, that I unboxed on my dads car. So I did a checkerboard pattern and the shades were cool. So I decided to do an easy scramble. On my 5th scramble ( still easy ) I turned it and a piece popped out. So I'm like, ok, this pops. So after I couldn't get the piece in. I waited to get home. And then I told my dad, can you fix this and he is like sure. So we got to work. And when we got the piece back in, it's popped right out. So I looked at the piece and the the freaking edge hook snapped. So I assembled it. Returned it and hated Calvins. I am considering to give calvins puzzle another chance though. Sorry for the long review but this puzzle Sucks don't get it.

Good but not perfect

Okay this cuboid is a heck of a lot of fun despite some nitpicks. Shapeshifting, parity, it’s got it all. Turning is fairly smooth, but it catches quite a bit, and also the stickerless version feels ragged and sharp. not sure if this is the case with the stickered version, also the stickerless version adds a bit more challenge because the down and top centerpieces have either red or orange with them, so you have to put those in the correct layer. One last thing the corners are very poorly put together on the stickerless version, I had a couple corner cap pops in my first solve. But I’d recommend it, just not the stickerless version.

For what you get, it's not worth it.

Short Version: Don't get this, it's not worth it.

Long Version:
I feel like for the amount you pay for, you should get something that is very high quality and stable, and this puzzle is neither of them. When I first got the puzzle, the edges of the puzzle were very sharp and the turning was okay but very catchy due to the fact that there's flash on every single piece so I had to cut and sand them off while setting the puzzle up with Traxxas 50k on the core and pieces. The center pieces of the middle layer were raised up higher than the other pieces and its center caps were a pain to take off considering there are no divots in the middle or in a corner of the center to make removing them easier. The corner stalks of the outer corners seem very suspect of breaking (and from I see from the other reviews, they have) so I super glued the three piece assembly to prevent that. When you turn the top two layers, you can see that the middle layer edges have a dip on the side of one half of the edge and this is on all of them. So all in all, this puzzle is low quality, but has a high price, which makes no sense to me. You're pretty much better off with the Cube4You version, or modding your own 3x3x5 if you want a proportional one.

THIS IS AMAZING

THIS IS AMAZING. I have not done anything to this cube, tensions, lube etc'. i have broken it in a bit (only have it for 2 days) and it turns super fast, I had not had a single pop/snap, maybe that's because i don't speedsolve it or apply pressure on it. Anyways as my first cuboid i would recommend this to anyone getting into cuboids as this is a fun challenge, and it look VERY impressive to non cubers :). Overall a fun puzzle to solve and I would recommend this to everyone looking for a fun cuboid.

GET THIS CUBOID

This cube turned fantastic out of the box and is super fun to solve, and the algorithms aren't that hard to remember, if this is your first cuboid like mine.
DEFINETLY WOULD RECOMMEND THIS CUBE

Alright

Pieces were a bit flimsy, also it came kinda loose and the equator center caps refuse to come off so I can't tighten them. Other than that though its pretty good, at least it doesn't unscrew itself like my last 3x3x5.

Clunky and fell apart day one

My son has over 30 cubes and was excited to get this for his birthday. He loved the new challenge but this fell apart within an hour or so. It rotated slowly and seemed to catch when it rotates. We reconstructed it twice but it doesn’t hold up. Extremely disappointing, especially considering it’s price.

Thanks for your review! We recommend tightening the screws to reduce pops.

Very High Quality

I owned a 3x3x5 Before, and it was decent in quality probably 6.6-7 Out of 10. This one though easily starts with an 8.

A lot of fun, but it breaks easily.

This was one of the most fun puzzles in my collection while it lasted. It is definitely worth owning one, but it isn’t really for speed solving. I learned that the hard way. One of the corner stalks broke when I was doing a timed solve. I’d like to get another one day, but it’s unfortunate that there’s not a better one on the market. Just take care when solving it.
