Product Description

The Angstrom Valk 4 M is our premium version of the Valk4 M, the first 4x4 produced in the iconic Valk line. This puzzle features light and fast turning, as well as, strong factory magnets that greatly increase overall stability. This puzzle is lubed with a balanced mixture of Angstrom Gravitas, Angstrom Dignitas, and DNM-37 which provides a fast and clean feel that is superior to a traditional silicone setup.

Original puzzle made by Qiyi MoFangGe. It features an Angstrom Research logo on the red side.

Please note that some new cubes when being used for the first few times may experience what is termed a "pop". This is when one or more parts of a puzzle pop out without any damage actually being done to any of the pieces. This also occurs from time to time during normal usage. Pops are typically not considered a defect if the parts which come off can be reassembled by hand.

The corners on 2x2 puzzles should not be twisted as doing so may snap the piece. Damage caused by corner twisting is not considered to be a defect.

Another great addition to the Angstrom line.

Out of the box, the Angstrom Valk 4 M was surprisingly fast, as many other premium cubes I've ordered were slow and gummy out of the box. The outer layers are smooth and dry, while the inner layers were a bit slower and had a bit of crunch to them. Overall, the cube has a satisfying swishy feel when turning. Corner cutting is good, with forward cuts on both outer and inner layers at 1 cubie, and reverse cuts on outer and inner layers at about 1/2 a cubie. The cube has some slight catching if a lighter turning style is used, but my turning style is naturally heavier, so this isn't much of an issue for me. My first ao5 on this cube was a 57.32, down from my previous PB of 59.88, which was on my mini WuQue M. Overall I definitely love this cube, and recommend it to anyone at an intermediate-advanced skill level on 4x4 looking for a solid cube.

Turns like butter!

This cube comes moderately slow out of the box, but breaks in with 10 solves. I added a drop of DNM-37 to the middle layers, because they were decently slow still after 10 solves. This cube turns so smooth and represents angstrom cubes very well.

P.S. The Angstrom logo is awesome!

Okay....

I got this cube as an upgrade to my non-magnetic qiyi budget 4x4. OOTB, it was fast and very smooth, It was also quite loose so I tightened it quite a bit. It had a bit of a catching problem which I did not like about this cube. It also popped a bit too. This cube is not the best, but it is also not bad. I think you should get the MGC 4x4 because you can save pops and money.

Definitely the best

I got this as my birthday present,and i got this in stickerless. The corner cutting is very good. And after about 1000+ solves,it becomes so smooth that i can't stop myself to scramble and solve it.I got my first sub30 single and my first sub30 average!Highly Recommend.Just buy it.

The angstrom Valk 4 is a big step up from not having a premium puzzle. (Except when you have the Angstrom Wuque M) Its reverse corner cutting is very good, along with its fluidity on the outer layers. However, I do not think this cube is the best cube on the market. If averaging sub-40 on 4x4, I would recommend the Angstrom Aosu WR M, which only takes about 50 solves to break well, or the Angstrom Aosu GTS2 M. The GTS takes a bit longer to break in, but its corner-cutting is fantastic and turning is very fluid on the outer layers, like turning a 3x3. This is 2mm bigger than the WR M however, and I perform similarly on them but use the WR M because I have smaller hands. They are both very good, the speed is a bit slower on the WR M, but the size of the GTS, makes it just harder to solve. I would not recommend you to get this cube out of all the premium 4x4s. If you are fast, get one of the above. If you are slow, why are you even buying an Angstrom puzzle?

New Main for Sure, But...

Amazing Turn Speed, Fluidity and Buttery Feel when Scrambling and Solving, much better than any 4x4 I've ever used. However, it pops a little more than I want due to the slightly looser tensions to speed it up. However, not enough of a downside for me to not use this. Have 500+ Solves on it and it's quality. Highly Recommend.

Very Good Quality!

I am a Angstrom cubes' fan , and my original main is a Angstrom WuQue M . But after I got this cube from my friend , I think it was better than my original main , and this cube is my main . So I will recommend you to buy this cube. :)
