Product Description

The X-Man Galaxy Megaminx V2 M (Sculpted) is the QiYi magnetized version of the X-Man Galaxy Megaminx V2. The puzzle has medium strength magnets that provide a very tactile feedback when the layers align. This version has sculpted ridges on each piece to aid turning and grip.

This variant also comes with a set of black parts in the box, which can be used to switch one side to black.

Juan Pablo Huanqui used this puzzle to set the 30.39 second average and 27.22 second single megaminx world records in August and December 2019 respectively.

Our Promise to You

All of our products are guaranteed to be free of defects, or we will replace and reship at no cost to you. Please contact us within 4 weeks (28 days) past the delivery date to report any issues with items you have purchased.

Please note that some new cubes when being used for the first few times may experience what is termed a "pop". This is when one or more parts of a puzzle pop out without any damage actually being done to any of the pieces. This also occurs from time to time during normal usage. Pops are typically not considered a defect if the parts which come off can be reassembled by hand.

The corners on 2x2 puzzles should not be twisted as doing so may snap the piece. Damage caused by corner twisting is not considered to be a defect.

Setup = Awsome!!

Out of the box it came tight, slow, hard to turn et cetera, but after wiping the entire cube for the slow lube and loosening the puzzle it felt so different in a good way but it could be better so i added Dnm-37. And it is my main ;)
And switching out the blue caps with the black made a (Cubehead) : HUUGE!! difference!
(I am color blind so telling blue and purple apart is very hard for me)

Amazing puzzle

This is a fantastic Megaminx. It is a more stable version of the Galaxy v2, which was the intent. Unlike many other mass-produced magnetic puzzles, the magnets are fairly strong. Personally, I would have preferred very slightly weaker magnets, but I also don't have a problem with how they are. The strength just makes it slightly more tiring to do many solves in a row compared to a non-magnetic puzzle or a puzzle with weaker magnets. Out of the box, it was very tight and dry. After adding a variety of lubes and loosening the tensions, it became excellent. Unfortunately, mine came with a bent screw, which inhibited the turning on one face. For the time being, I just swapped it out for a screw from my normal v2, but I am going to get a replacement in the near future. Additionally, it is somewhat difficult to get all of the sides tensioned evenly, but it just takes time to get it right. Something else to note is that the black pieces do not arrive magnetized, but there are spare magnets for the buyer to install. The mold was also altered slightly to allow for grooves to put the magnets in, making installation much easier. Overall, this is a great Megaminx, and it is unbeatable for the price. I would strongly recommend picking one of these up. You will almost definitely not be disappointed.

Awesome Megaminx

I’ve had this megaminx for a little bit over a year now and it’s is an awesome puzzle! It has very smooth turning and it also has sculpted pieces for a better grip which I love. If you’re wondering about the magnets wether they’re strong or not, they’re not too strong, matter of fact they might be a bit weak but that’s just how I like them so it a big plus for me!

Great mega!

It is very tight and dry out of the box but with setup it is a great cube! It's a little bigger then some megas I've tried and I don't like it that much but its a great cube and is my current main!

Doesn't feel the same as the galaxy v2 lm

Reposting this review because I accidentally posted this review on the concave rather than sculpted listing, oops.

I got this because I wanted to try a smaller megaminx than my current main, the galaxy v2 lm. The LM and M are the same on paper in every respect aside from size - same magnets, piece structure, etc. The M feels much snappier than the LM, however. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it is noticeably different.

That being said, I do like the turning on this puzzle. The magnets do a great job of keeping the shape of the puzzle and keeping it from squirming around in your hand without being overpowering. The stickerless shades are great and it includes black pieces if you want to swap out a side, although you will need to glue the (included) magnets in place in the black pieces if you do so. Overall, this is a great puzzle that I would recommend.

The bottom line is that this is an excellent puzzle, but you shouldn't expect it to feel the same as the LM. Puzzles often feel different in different sizes, and this one is no exception.

I paid $24.99 for this puzzle from Cubicle and purchased the sculpted stickerless version.

Ships sooooo dry -- perfectly ready for your personal lubing!

I'm far from a speed cubist - I just like the relaxation of physically solving twisty puzzles... it's my version of knitting, I suppose. :) Despite this, I decided to splurge on myself with a high quality megaminx, and this one seemed to fit the bill...

The puzzle is very well built, and it is only a smidgen smaller than the other modern megaminx I enjoy, and a hair bigger than the ones I got from mefferts many years ago... This puzzle has no noticeable squish regardless of how or where one holds it, which is very nice. Unlike some of the previous reviews, this puzzle is super dry -- so dry, I figured that was why there was a flyer describing all the lubes available in this shipment! lol... every single face turns the same - lurchy at best. After a couple solves and some patterns, it seems there *is* some lube in it, but so far it's not 'breaking in' or getting any better. I think this condition would be ideal if you are a cubist who likes to customize the feel with their particular favorite lube(s), but for a generic puzzlist such as myself, I'm not sure how to make this more enjoyable to manipulate.

While I'd give it's current state a 2.5 star rating, I have such a good impression and hopes for how this puzzle would feel with some 'basic tuning' by someone who knows what they like, that I can't help but give this 5 stars... Just know you'll have to put a little work into making this your favourite! 🙋‍♀️
