Product Description

The FangShi LimCube Deformed 3x3 Centrosphere is an exotic-looking 3x3 shapemod in which each side has been carved out in the shape of a hollow circle and the corners have been elongated so as to form a 2x2 cage around the central sphere.

Note: Please note that the Black version does not come with any stickers. The manufacturer decided not to produce the stickers for this particular variant.

Our Promise to You

All of our products are guaranteed to be free of defects, or we will replace and reship at no cost to you. Please contact us within 4 weeks (28 days) past the delivery date to report any issues with items you have purchased.

Please note that some new cubes when being used for the first few times may experience what is termed a "pop". This is when one or more parts of a puzzle pop out without any damage actually being done to any of the pieces. This also occurs from time to time during normal usage. Pops are typically not considered a defect if the parts which come off can be reassembled by hand.

The corners on 2x2 puzzles should not be twisted as doing so may snap the piece. Damage caused by corner twisting is not considered to be a defect.

Disappointing

So I bought this cube to replace my Lefun Centrosphere...thinking this cube would be better quality. Turns out there is almost no difference between the two...despite a huge difference in price. The Fangshi has pink instead of red and it's a little quieter than the Lefun. But the quality of the plastic is the same with both. Save your money and get the Lefun version.

normal 3x3

I bought this because I liked the idea of a 3x3 housed in a 2x2, I thought somehow you solve them independently...not the case. Its a normal 3x3 that is really hard to solve, not because the puzzle itself is hard, but because its hard to turn the inside pieces and so you have to be conscious of the algorithm youre using each and every time because it takes so long to turn and correct you cant just solve using intuition. Once you solve it the outer 2x2 is automatically solved. Cool looking cube but kind of pointless otherwise. Price is a bit high for such a cheap cube also.

no stickers with this cube

this could have been a great cube if they had bothered to make stickers for this cube.

Interesting cube

The cube is great, has bright colors and is well built. It has two problems though , one of them I expected, the other surprised me.

First, this is similar to how a 222 works, it shows only the corners and the mechanism is basically a spherical 333. In this case the 333 is exposed. But on a 222 one of the corners must be fixed to at least 2 edges, otherwise it can misalign and block. Since here the 333 is fully functional, it very commonly misaligns and is hard to turn fast.
For this reason, I was not that bothered by the shape of the edges. They are not spherical, they have a ridge that gets hidden behind the corner. This is not as aesthetic as them being smooth, but helps a lot in keeping it aligned.

The other problem, the one that bothers me, is that the different sides have different heights, like a mirror cube. It is not noticeable in the picture, since opposing sides do have the same height. But if you make a 90 turn, you will notice the edges do not align with the centers height. I am not sure if there is a functional reason for this, but it does not look as good as it would if it was level.

Having said that, I really like the cube. It is a cool concept, it turns smoothly (as long as it is aligned), and I really like that it is stickerless and well built. It has been quite useful in teaching other cubers how parity errors on a 222 work, since you can see the underlying 333.
