Please note that some new cubes when being used for the first few times may experience what is termed a "pop". This is when one or more parts of a puzzle pop out without any damage actually being done to any of the pieces. This also occurs from time to time during normal usage. Pops are typically not considered a defect if the parts which come off can be reassembled by hand.

The corners on 2x2 puzzles should not be twisted as doing so may snap the piece. Damage caused by corner twisting is not considered to be a defect.

An interesting puzzle with a cool background

I got this cube because the Rainbow Cube apparently was a WCA official event in some capacity at some point in like 2005, but was removed some time later. Even still, this puzzle intrigued me, and up until now I hadn't been able to find a reliable one online anywhere. Of course it isn't an event anymore, but I always thought it would be cool to have for collection purposes, which is why I was so glad to see that WitEden had made one recently. The puzzle itself turns just fine and is of reasonable quality, as you can expect from a company such as WitEden. It can have a tendency to feel clunky and somewhat unstable at times, but the puzzle appears to have a ball core, which makes it difficult to tension. But as long as you turn accurately, you shouldn't have any problems with it. As for how it is solved, it says in the product description that it "looks more complicated than it is", and this is very true. The puzzle has 14 sides, which makes it look challenging at first, but I was able to figure it out completely intuitively in a couple of minutes. It's really a pretty easy puzzle to solve. But still, I think that aside from the average quality of the puzzle itself, this is a very cool cube because of its history and I recommend it to anyone like me who wants to add it to their collection.
