Our Promise to You

All of our products are guaranteed to be free of defects, or we will replace and reship at no cost to you. Please contact us within 4 weeks (28 days) past the delivery date to report any issues with items you have purchased.

Please note that some new cubes when being used for the first few times may experience what is termed a "pop". This is when one or more parts of a puzzle pop out without any damage actually being done to any of the pieces. This also occurs from time to time during normal usage. Pops are typically not considered a defect if the parts which come off can be reassembled by hand.

The corners on 2x2 puzzles should not be twisted as doing so may snap the piece. Damage caused by corner twisting is not considered to be a defect.

good cube but confused why it's frosted

I got all their cubes 3x3, 4x4,.. all the way to 12x12. For some reason the 8x8 and 9x9 are frosted. All the other cubes are hard shiny plastic, but 8x8 and 9x9 are soft frosted. It's weird. And if I'm honest it bugs me because they don't match all the other cubes in the line. I ended up buying the stickered Shengshou 8x8 which I really like. I think I'll get the 9x9 and 10x10 Shengshou to go with it. These cubes are fine and they work well I just don't understand why I can't find a hard shiny 8x8 and 9x9. I have them in a line on my shelf from 2x2 to 12x12,.. and the 8 and 9 sort of stick out because they're frosted. Not a big deal but yeah... kind of annoying. Then I bought the Shengshou 8x8 Tank,.. and again,.. it's frosted, cant really tell in pics but you can see it in person. Maybe no one makes a shiny 8x8 and 9x9. If I'm really lucky maybe MGC will make some.

Good, but broken super quickly

I've heard good things about this, but tragically, I can't really say them myself. The size is decent, and the solve was fine. That was until a piece popped out. I'm fine with the pop, but what I'm not okay with was the fact that the stem of the piece broke when the piece came out on the first solve. I was turning normally, the puzzle just caught on itself, which caused the pop/breakage. This is probably just a fluke from my specific puzzle, but because of it, I can't really recommend this one.

I'm pretty sure I got a defective one, but if I didn't, do not buy this cube

Alright… when I first got the cube, I was really excited. I wanted to do a checkerboard type pattern, and then after that, I can't remember what happened, but after that, I got a pop. I'm only 9, so I can't fix it, my dad could fix it but it took him a while. He said to not do it again. I did accidentally do it again. Now, both of the times, I told him I didn't mean to do it, but it took him another while to fix the second pop. After that's happened, I hadn't really been liking the cube at all. Although I did start liking the cube after that, and in the cube in a cube pattern it looked great on our mantle, sometime later (the day I'm writing this review), it popped AGAIN. But before we get into that, the 2nd time it popped, my mom tried to fix it, not my dad, and she couldn't really fix it, so I tried to put the piece back in, and on the bright side, it did work, but on the dark side, some other part of the centerpiece got detached from it, so I threw it away not knowing anything. Now for why I'm giving this cube 1 star: the day I'm writing this review: It popped AGAIN for the 3rd time, and the center got bent out of shape. My dad tried to fix it, and within a very long time, it started falling apart, which I consider as breaking. I'm not sure if I got a defective one or if I got this cube again for that to happen again as if it wasn't defective. But if mine wasn't defective, I can't recommend this cube to you, otherwise, I really don't know. Are MeiLong 8x8s supposed to do that?

Hi Liam,

Thanks for your review of the MeiLong 8x8, and I am sorry to hear about the pops! Unfortunately, it doesn't sound like your cube is defective; 8x8 cubes have very small parts, and you need to align each turn carefully to avoid pops.

Good Enough I guess?

Its my first non-WCA NxN puzzle. It turns pretty good, but is tight out of the box. I cant even see the screw when pulling it apart, it is so tight. I wouldn't solve it daily, but it makes a good piece for a collection, all at a good price. I would recommend for anyone who wants to extend their collection.

Okay

This cube has decent turning. However, the reason I am giving it 2 stars is because it pops so much. After I had it for about 4 days, a piece popped out, and when I tried to put it back, the plastic twisted and snapped. I was not even turning that forcefully and the cube would still pop about 2 times a solve.

New biggest cube to torture myself

This is my first 8x8 and when I first got it, it came very tight. If you do get this, make sure to loosen this by around 90 to 180 degrees

A Bit Stiff

When I first got this cube it was pretty stiff and it felt like the cube was about to pop. The cube needs to really get broken in before being used. Besides that it still is a pretty good cube.

Decent Budget 8x8, But Get The Qiyi

The MFJS 8x8 is, don't get me wrong, a decent 8x8. But it pops way more than the Qiyi when you don't turn carefully. Also, i feel like the cube requires you to hold all the layers you arent turning, unlike the Qiyi. Its not the worst thing ever, but compared to my Qiyi 8x8, it's the worse of the two. For 2 extra dollars, i think the Qiyi 8x8 is the better option
