Product Description

The ShengShou Aurora is the latest 3x3 designed by popular big cube maker ShengShou. This cube features a circular track embedded on the centers and edges that allows for soft and easy rotation. An upgrade from the ShengShou Wind 3x3, the Aurora comes with larger holes between the pieces which allow for more freedom in reverse corner cutting. This puzzle has durable, high quality stickers and is smooth out of the box.

Please note that some new cubes when being used for the first few times may experience what is termed a "pop". This is when one or more parts of a puzzle pop out without any damage actually being done to any of the pieces. This also occurs from time to time during normal usage. Pops are typically not considered a defect if the parts which come off can be reassembled by hand.

The corners on 2x2 puzzles should not be twisted as doing so may snap the piece. Damage caused by corner twisting is not considered to be a defect.

Terrible!

this cube is TERRIBLE. Probably one of the worst cubes on the market. Zero corner cutting, even after loosening the tensions. THE WORST puzzle ever. Gets worse even after breaking in. 0/5 if I could. Very stiff, even after lubed. I decided to mod this into a second Super Floppy Cube because someone else wanted one. I may have just got a bad one in the batch, though.

Nice starter cube

This is really a good cube for young people and those new to checking out the world of cubing. I bought a few for the neighbor kids who really just wanted the thrill of owning "A CUBE!!" It can't be compared with the high tech magnetic cubes of this modern era, but it is smooth-turning and stable, with nice stickers.

Entry-level cube.

This cube is fairly good, recommended for beginners, but I would use the Moyu RS3 M because it has the same price, with a more premium feel to it.

Locks up.

This cube is smooth, but it locks up a lot. When I say a lot, I really mean a lot. It took me more than 2 seconds to do an H perm. :/ It has no reverse corner cutting, which is the main reason it locks.
Not recommended for speedsolving, but if you are a beginner, this is cube is decent.

Great

I got this cube for $5 on sale and it is great. After break-in and lube, it is great. The stock tensions are fine. THIS IS NOT A FAST AND SLOPPY CUBE. The reason why this cube is so great because it is smooth and accurate. Is it slow? No, but you can't expect to get away with big reverse corner cuts as a result of loosening it a lot and trying to get 10 tps in a long algorithm. But, like I said earlier this cube is great because it still lets you do those long algorithms pretty fast and since it lets you line everything up perfectly and not over shoot, you won't be slowed down by pops and corner twists.

Smooth Cube

Out of the box, this cube was great. Very smooth and great for people new to speedcubing. The sticker quality is ok, they start to peel after 200 solves or so. Overall though, very nice cube.

Corner cutting is average, lots of little catches.

I got the white version, & it looked nice. Normal corner-cutting isn't terrible, but also isn't that great. Reverse is pretty bad. The main issue for me though is catching- LOTS of catching. I got so frustrated with all the tiny catches that I stopped solving on it at all & gave it to my daughter's school. Also, my dad dropped it on wood floor and EVERY SINGLE CAP flew off of it. Was a bit of a pain to find all the pieces (25 caps!) and get them onto the right pieces, so I super-glued them in place for it not to happen again. Minor compared to catches, though. Get something better.

Mine corner cuts line to line and reverse cuts half a cubie.
The stock tensions were fine but it pops sometimes.
maybe my Aurora is good and the others are bad
