Please note that some new cubes when being used for the first few times may experience what is termed a "pop". This is when one or more parts of a puzzle pop out without any damage actually being done to any of the pieces. This also occurs from time to time during normal usage. Pops are typically not considered a defect if the parts which come off can be reassembled by hand.

The corners on 2x2 puzzles should not be twisted as doing so may snap the piece. Damage caused by corner twisting is not considered to be a defect.

My 8 year old devoured this book

The author is clearly familiar with the cubing community. We really appreciated the attention to detail that he put into this book. Great for kiddos who love cubing.

I love this book!

this book is so cute and really highlights a lot of what cubing is about and why people enjoy it. I feel like a lot of regular cubers may not think this is as cool as I do, but for someone (me) who likes to read and has a special interest is cubing this book is awesome. the quality is great and so are all the drawings and writing, I will definitely be reading this on repeat

[Spoilers]
Generally speaking, this book is pretty good but there are some things that will annoy me to no end
1. It seems to be based on the 2012 US Nationals since it's also set in Las Vegas but sub-10 averages galore in the book mean that this book literally could not have been A SINGLE ONE of the US Nationals.
2. Every single character is fake. Not that big of a deal but I feel like using real speedcubers would've been better
3. Plenty of cubes are drawn with the wrong color scheme
4. At the end of the book when Miles let's Tyler borrow his cube, I feel like it's unrealistic that Tyler can just switch mains so easily.
5. Every. Single. Cube. Is depicted with black internals with no signs of core magnets or even piece to piece magnets.
6. Every. Single. Cube. Is also depicted as having unrealistically squared off pieces. For corners, it's common, but modern speedcubes pretty much never have square edges or centers
7. Now, let's just go through all the nitpicks I have shall we? (Wrong color schemes aren't counted)

Page 2 - none of the timers are on
Page 7 - The cross is still a move away
Page 7 - The matched blue shown wouldn't even be that useful to a ROUX solver let alone a CFOP one
Page 8/9 - the orange on page 8 suddenly switches to red
Page 9 - the layer falling off would only happen if a screw was loose, and seeing that Tyler by that point has already done 3 solves, a loose screw is unlikely
Page 15 - The orange sticker in the first panel suddenly switches to white in the next
Page 15 - The orange/white edge shown should've been in the cross, and even if he did a green cross it wouldn't make sense as he likely would've seen the mistake before or while doing the last layer
Page 15 - It is almost impossible for the swap shown to happen since the red/white, orange/white, and blue/white are all at least partially shown, the last edge with a white sticker has to be green/white which is extremely unlikely given that Tyler likely just finished a PLL on green cross or specifically an A Perm on white cross meaning that the green/white edge wasn't in the cross for almost the entirety of the solve and still went unnoticed by Tyler.
Page 15 and 14ish - But wait! There's more. On all of page 14, in the 9th panel, Tyler is shown with white on the bottom with a big left bar on the left meaning that the only possible PLLs Tyler could have are Jb, F, Ua, and Ub. So either Tyler did a completely unnecessary rotation or the book is lying to us
Page 14 - on the 8th panel, the cube seems to be an S2 away from being solved from the view , and we'll ignore that it means now Tyler only could've gotten a Ua or Ub for PLL which is still not an A Perm. Not only that but there are no OLL algs that end in an S2 and the only one that ends in an S move at all is an alternative algorithm for OLL 57 (R U R' S' R U' R' S if you're wondering)

Alright I'm getting tired of complaining so I'll stop but there ARE quite a bit more things wrong
