Product Description

The mf8 Crazy Unicorn Cube is a 3x3 shape mod with 4 rotatable corners, each of which includes a complete corner and part of 3 edges and centers. It also has a cylindrical portion on each face that remains stationary. The additional moves allow the puzzle to be scrambled in more ways than a traditional 3x3.

Our Promise to You

All of our products are guaranteed to be free of defects, or we will replace and reship at no cost to you. Please contact us within 4 weeks (28 days) past the delivery date to report any issues with items you have purchased.

Please note that some new cubes when being used for the first few times may experience what is termed a "pop". This is when one or more parts of a puzzle pop out without any damage actually being done to any of the pieces. This also occurs from time to time during normal usage. Pops are typically not considered a defect if the parts which come off can be reassembled by hand.

The corners on 2x2 puzzles should not be twisted as doing so may snap the piece. Damage caused by corner twisting is not considered to be a defect.

WOW. The Cubicle is amazing.

I got this cube along with the Witeden 3x3x9, Tomz 4x4x6. Wow. All the cubes turn amazingly especially given the complexity of each mechanism. I got exactly what I ordered in 2-3 days and more. I had bought a Gigaminx years ago from Cube4You (site sucks now) and lost the stickers and I told the Cubicle this in the special notes. They hooked it up and put a set of free stickers in there for me!! After I spent $90 on the other 3 cubes, they totally made my day. I am 100% going to be a repeat customer. The Cubicle is where you should buy your cubes. Real, human, customer service. 5 stars easy.

Amazing cube, but get the stickerless version.

Difficulty: 7/10

OVERVIEW:
The Unicorn Cube combines a crazy 3x3 with four corners that use Dino Cube moves. Because only half the corners use Dino turns, some turns are bandaged unless the pieces are moved to an orientation that allows them to turn. A good deal of planning ahead and setting up moves is necessary to solve the puzzle. The only algorithms needed to solve it are standard 3x3 ones, but you'll also need to find your own way of cycling pieces around the cube. A knowledge of bandaging is helpful. The only drawback is that, due to its complexity and the large number of small pieces, you won't be able to speed-solve this cube. Prepare to spend a good 20 minutes finishing it. Overall, it's well made, and a good challenge, but can catch due to its complexity.

PROS: Good challenge, sturdy build, and pleasing geometry. The 3x3 turns are very smooth.
CONS: The Dino moves are somewhat catchy, and require alignment. Please keep in mind however that with a puzzle of this complexity, that's somewhat unavoidable. Additionally, for the stickered version, the small stickers are at risk of falling off due to the way the puzzle needs to be held; I recommend getting the stickerless version if possible.

Stickered version

I love the functionality of the puzzle!
This is a fun addition to the standard Unicorn Cube. Sometimes there are catches when moving two faces in rapid succession. This is to be expected with so many moving pieces. My only real gripe is that some of the small stickers have begun to chip and peel. Higher quality stickers would be a big plus. I much prefer the look of stickered puzzles so I guess this is my own doing but I feel that I should be able to expect stickers that maintain quality for more than two solves before peeling and chipping.
Overall, I am very happy with the purchase!

Much More Difficult than a Unicorn Cube

I love the Unicorn Cube and find the solve just difficult enough to feel that satisfaction once I've solved it.
Scramble and solve, scramble and solve... Fun
I decided to try the next level up with this Crazy Unicorn...
All I can say is that the difficulty level has been turned up to ELEVEN.
It's a slow and involved solve with a lot of planning and set up.
Over all, this cube is fantastic.
The stickers and classic colors are what I've come to expect from a cube of this caliber.
It does not require any lube OOTB. The puzzle moves as it should, which allows me to focus on maneuvering the pieces into a final solved state rather than, as with some puzzles, becoming lost in a solve because of trying to rotate one piece.
This is a nice cube that is one I'd strongly advise any collector to acquire.

Awesome puzzle, catchy dino turns

I was surprised to find that the solve is not too much more difficult than the regular Unicorn Cube, in my opinion. Although the reduction stage is a bit more challenging, if you have experience with other circle puzzles, then you should be able to wrap your head around it. Despite that the reduction stage is more difficult, due to the puzzle's structure, placing the center corners in the beginning is easier, and also in the end you don't get any parity (single flipped corner), as you can with a regular Unicorn Cube. Hence, that's why I'd consider their level about the same. The 3x3 faces turn very well, but the dino turns are quite stiff, I'd say even a bit more stiff than the regular Unicorn Cube. Perhaps it's just the specific puzzle I got. It can be a bit frustrating, but it's still manageable. Sometimes you just have to do two turns in the opposite direction. Due to this I took off one star from the puzzle's rating, but aside from that it's a really fun solve and I would highly recommend it. Keep in mind that if you've never solved any circle puzzles before, it will be very difficult at first to wrap your head around how its solved, but once you learn it and your mind adapts, it's a fun challenge.

Planet Series!

This crazy unicorn is a fantastic cube in its own right, but what no review has mentioned is that very simply, this one puzzle can be turned into an entire planetary series. This becomes unbelievable value for money and the different styles of solves are great. Far more interesting than simply this crazy unicorn. Good cube. Fun solve.

This was a challenging cube to learn, but not tedious. It’s a fun solve and I find myself picking it up to play quite often. I wish the stickerless version was still available.
