Product Description

The FangShi LimCube Megaminx features an innovative ball-like core and a 2-piece center piece construction, as well as edge and corner caps that are similar to those in FangShi's 3x3 designs. The size of the corners is also abnormally large compared to what one would expect for a megaminx of this size, and this is achieved by shrinking the width of the edges and the size of the centers.

Our Promise to You

All of our products are guaranteed to be free of defects, or we will replace and reship at no cost to you. Please contact us within 4 weeks (28 days) past the delivery date to report any issues with items you have purchased.

Please note that some new cubes when being used for the first few times may experience what is termed a "pop". This is when one or more parts of a puzzle pop out without any damage actually being done to any of the pieces. This also occurs from time to time during normal usage. Pops are typically not considered a defect if the parts which come off can be reassembled by hand.

The corners on 2x2 puzzles should not be twisted as doing so may snap the piece. Damage caused by corner twisting is not considered to be a defect.

Megaminx review

This puzzle is fantastic. The turning is just right, just stiff enough to not accidently turn pieces while holding it, but just smooth enough to not have to put effort into turning.
Can be mildly difficult to 'square up' at times, but that could also just be the nature of the puzzle.

What a wonderful megaminx!

My main before I bought this was the shengshou aurora, and this one has a similar feel; it is very smooth and turns very fast. Something I noticed about this dodecahedron is that the corners are large. At first I thought this would slow me down, but this piece of plastic proved me wrong. The abnormally large corners allow me to have a better grip with turning the different faces, and it improves the "star" appearance on each face as well! I got the pink version, and I find it amazing, but I definately recommend all colours for you guys who want to buy this cool puzzle. This is now my main, for those of you who were wondering. 10/10!

Thicker faces for easier play, but smaller than I expected

This puzzle features 12 different colors (one for each side). The faces are "thicker" than most other Megaminx versions... Artistically, this means each face has a nice pentagram (as opposed to 5 trapezoids) between the corners. Physically, this makes turning the faces easier (since they are "fatter" than others).

It turns well out-of-the-box, and cuts corners pretty well. On a few occasions I did "lock-up" the puzzle while trying to cut corners, but it never broke ("popped").

It is definitely harder to solve than the original Rubik's Cube (3x3x3), but not as tough as Rubik's Revenge (4x4x4). It is a great puzzle for anybody who has mastered the standard cube, but is probably too difficult for a newbie. Anyway, I enjoy playing it and think anybody who likes twisty-puzzles will enjoy it too!

My only complaint is the size. It is the same size as the much simpler "Kilominx/FlowerMinx"... in fact, it is about the same size as a standard Rubik's Cube. But because it has more (2x) sides than a cube, and more stickers per side than either a Kilominx or Rubik's Cube, I was expecting it to be bigger. However, the small size does not compromise play (my complaint is mainly about style/art/touch).

Very interesting feel

This Megaminx is easy to turn and speed solve because of the enlarged corners. It's a little sandy out of the box but turns good. The edges are smaller, so locating pieces will take some getting used to. Also, it can corner twist during casual scrambles.

Final grade: good. Not as good as the Galaxy, but it's closer than any other megaminx out there right now. If you like megaminx, this one needs to be part of your collection.
